Behold, I do a new thing. – Isaiah 43:19

God has a plan for you.

I am here to help.

ISAIAH 43:16-19

This is what the Lord says—
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,
17 who drew out the chariots and horses,
    the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland. (NIV)

Who Am I?

Hey! I’m Tamara Newell, founder of Peaceful Body & Beauty, a Christian holistic health blog. I’m a wife, and mom of 3. I write about healthy living, faith, fitness, and arts. I love Jesus and drink too much coffee. I’m passionate about equipping Christian women to live their most vibrant life and walk joyfully in all God has planned for them.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20

How I got here

Over a decade, I coached women in Pilates & Health. I saw the same thing over and over. Women setting high goals, starting strong, yet losing steam shortly after.

They tried their best, genuine in their pursuit. Yet, at some point, pressures of time, finances, or family responsibilities won. The aftermath became predictable. Shame, guilt, embarrassment. These were amazing women. Smart, successful, leaders.

What was going on?

Then I met Jane. She came to the Pilates studio, in her 70’s. Hadn’t exercised a day in her life. Couldn’t lift a 1 pound weight, I kid you not. I wondered how to even train her. She was uncomfortable in her body, insecure and didn’t want to be there.

Why was she there?

Her husband was sick and needed her help. After over 40 years of marriage, she realized she was too weak to help her ill husband. She had her why. She had her vision of helping him walk from the bed to the table to eat dinner together. To get there, we set a goal of coming to Pilates 2x a week.

She stuck to her goal and her vision came to pass. Her confidence soared. She felt younger, energized and happy.
