What can faith do for my fitness?
Bringing faith into our fitness can connect us with God. The bible says;
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17
Our walk with God isn’t just on Sunday’s. It’s all the time, including our workouts. Invite God into your fitness. Lean into His strength, rather than your own. His power outlasts our power in everything we do.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Isaiah 40:29
Faith in fitness is honoring to God. He gave us our body. By taking care of it, we’re being good stewards. Ever given someone a gift and then watch them care for it? How do you feel? Pleased and honored, right? The resources you put into the gift is valued by the recipient. Similarly, God is honored when we care for the body He gave us.
Why do we lose motivation to workout?
It’s very common to lose motivation to workout. Reasons may include:
- Workout boredom
- Stress
- Lack of accountability
- Family commitments
- Major life changes, ie. moving, change of career, childbirth
- Illness or Injury
- Depression/ Mental health challenges
Even as a Pilates instructor, I had a season where I just didn’t have workout mojo. Why did I lack the motivation to workout? For me, it was a combination of boredom and winter blues. After a few months of lack luster fitness, I upped my vitamin D intake and switched up my workouts. Sure enough, I got my groove back. And you can too!
